Synchonizing phasor measurement and STATCOM controller in power system stability enhancement

<p>This paper presents the concepts of Synchronizing Phasor Measurement (SPM) and its application in addition with a STATCOM controller order to enhance dynamic stability multi-machine power system. The bus voltage under consideration is estimated form digital signal by Unit (SPMU). DSP based output SPMU then applied fixed structure PI type lead-lag controller. performance this discrete-time compared analog counterpart. parameters are first tuned popular soft computation technique, Particle Swarm optimization (PSO) later converted one for simulation outputs received from SPMU. effectiveness design proposed control scheme illustrated through time domain 3-machine, 9-bus test results established that system more effective resulting better than continuous-time improvement<em>.</em></p>
